CORD Project Adds Four New Collaborators to a Burgeoning Global Network

The CORD® Project is excited to announce that Accelleran, Mariner, ng4T and xRAN have joined the projects as collaborators – signifying continued growth throughout the increasingly-vibrant open source networking community. The project comprises a cross-industry community that’s building an open source and fully-integrated solutions architecture designed to support connectivity and cloud-based services for residential, enterprise and mobile subscribers. We are happy to welcome these new collaborators that look forward to working with them to redefine the economics and agility of access networks across the globe.

“The CORD Project aims to drive network solutions with open source software and software-defined standards,” said Guru Parulkar, executive director of ONF, ON.Lab and Stanford Platform Lab. “We’re thrilled to welcome these four new collaborators, who support our mission of making a fully-integrated platform for innovative solutions that are available for network operators. Their unique market perspectives and commitment to collaboration will help CORD to accelerate the global adoption of SDN.”

CORD Project represents a growing vibrant, global ecosystem comprising a mix of start-ups, students and the world’s most well-known and respected technology, electronics, and telecommunications operators, vendors and service providers. Our neutral, third-party governance is open to all and fuels community engagement and SDN innovation. Whether an individual or an organization, all are encouraged to get involved with the growing CORD project.

More about the new CORD collaborators:

Accelleran: Accelleran provides LTE Small Cell software and LTE Small Cell product solutions, which address the real-world challenges of volume deployment of Small Cells. They offer turnkey solutions and unique experience on the challenges of integrating cellular technology on low-cost, yet powerful platforms and architectures.

Mariner SONAR4: SONAR4 empowers Communications Service Providers with massively scalable, closed-loop analytics for ultra-low latency Edge Cloud services.  SONAR4 harnesses SDN edge computing telemetry into powerful deep-learning Service Assurance and Analytics insights.

ng4T: ng4T, a leading manufacturer of mobile network emulators, load and performance testers, offers state-of-the-art test solutions for the telecommunication industry in NFV/SDN and Classic environments. Their tools and expertise reduce time-to-market and ensure smooth integration of new network nodes and telecommunication services.

xRan: xRAN.org was formed to develop, standardize and promote a software-based, extensible Radio Access Network (xRAN) and to standardize critical elements of the xRAN architecture. The xRAN architecture transforms today’s static, highly proprietary RAN infrastructure into an extensible, software-based service delivery platform capable of rapidly responding to changing user, application and business needs.
